Objectives

To provide information needs and information access facilities to the researchers and users in Chemical Engineering Pilot Plant (CEPP) in supporting the industrial chemical engineering research activity.

  • To manage and purchase materials for CEPP use.
  • To obtain imprint materials from the government and private agencies such as MPOB, SIRIM, FRIM, and MARDI.
  • To manage and collect articles related to the Core Pilot Plant field efficiently for easy access to the users.
  • To offer consultant services to the students, lecturers, researchers and staffs in order for them to get necessary information for the ongoing projects or researchs.


Functions

Members Registration

  • Registration and UTM students and staffs records update will only be carried out by the main library. CEPP only involve in registration for the CEPP outside members.
  • CEPP external membership only valid in CEPP. If any members would like to refer to the main library or other branches, they have to register as PSZSKD or PSZKL outside members.

Ordinary membership are open to:

a)
All registered UTM full time/part-time students.
b)
UTM Academic Staff (including UTM contract, part-time and temporary lecturers).

c)
UTM non-academic staff (including temporary staff).

External membership are open to:

a) Staff of government and statutory bodies, lecturers from local universities, staff from the private sector and other professionals.
b)  UTM Alumni
c)  Corporate members (Industrial or corporate sector)
d)  Individuals


Borrowing


a) Borrowing of CEPP materials should be made at CEPP Circulation Counter.
b) Ordinary members i.e students are allowed reference facilities only.
c) Ordinary members i.e support staffs, research assistants and research officer are allowed for both reference and borrowing facilities with the permission from CEPP director.

Returning

  • Returning of CEPP materials by ordinary members or external members should be made at CEPP only.
  • Collection materials borrowed from the main library PSZ SKD and branch PSZ KL is not allowed to be return at CEPP.


Renewing Items

  • Renewing items can be made through INFOLAN2 if it still not overdue.

 

Booking/Reserved Items

  • Students and staffs who would like to book or reserve any CEPP collection can do so at CEPP sublocation


Inter Library Loan

  • This service is not available at CEPP.


Other services

Printing

Provide printing service for students to print their assignment or information from databases or other electronic source.

Downloading

Provide facilities to download data using thumb drive and compact disc.

Copy/Burn Data

Provide facilities to burn/copy data into CD-R or CD-RW.

Scanning

Provide facilities to scan documents.

Photostate

The fee is based according to membership category:
